Abdul Odeh was sworn in by Judge Kenneth Pritchard April 1 in Ridgecrest.
Odeh plans on practicing law at IWV Legal along with attorney John-Paul Serrao.
Odeh told the DI via email he plans to primarily focus on personal injury and criminal law.
Odeh's family has long-term roots in Ridgecrest.
The family moved here in 1987 when Odeh's father, Khaled Odeh, bought the local Neighborhood Market.
Odeh graduated from Burroughs High School in 2000 and from the University of California, Riverside in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in business economics.
